A day built around one meal
Okay, Burbank, you officially have my heart (and my stomach!). I recently took a little weekend road trip after one of my followers told me about The Mystic Museum. I mean, who can resist a place dedicated to all things spooky and macabre? Not me!
After geeking out over creepy artifacts and oddities, I was *starving*. I wasn't sure what to do since there was so much nearby, but I didn't want anything too casual. I wanted a proper meal. I decided to try the Smoke House Restaurant, I'd heard whispers of its old-school charm and classic steakhouse fare. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
Walking in is like stepping back in time. Think dark wood, cozy leather booths, and the kind of atmosphere that just makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. It's the definition of a classic American steakhouse, with that hint of old Hollywood glamour that Burbank does so well.
First things first, I had to decide what to order! The menu is HUGE, but I finally narrowed it down. Since I'm a seafood fiend, I went for the Alaskan Halibut Fish & Chips ($25.00). The halibut was perfectly battered and fried, crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Served with fries and creamy coleslaw, it was exactly what I wanted. My friend went with the BARBECUED BABY BACK RJBS ($32.00), and after stealing a bite, I almost regretted my own order. Almost. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the homemade BBQ sauce was amazing! We also got the Sauteed Mushrooms & Onions ($12.00) as a side, which was a great choice.
But here's the thing that makes Smoke House truly special: it's not just about the food (though the food is incredible). It's the whole experience. It felt like I had been transported to a different era, and I loved every minute of it. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was just plain delicious. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger over your meal, soak up the ambiance, and maybe even catch some live music.
Speaking of Burbank, if you're ever in the area, definitely make a day of it! Besides Smoke House and The Mystic Museum, you could also check out Super Silly Fun Land at Universal Studios. Or maybe take the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood to see behind the scenes magic. Burbank has so much to offer, and Smoke House is the perfect place to end (or start!) your adventure.
So, yeah, I'm officially obsessed with Smoke House Restaurant. If you're looking for a classic steakhouse experience with amazing food and a touch of old Hollywood charm, this is your spot. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! I can't wait to go back and try the Stuffed Salmon En-Plank ($32.00) next time!
