A day built around one meal
Okay, you guys know I’m always on the hunt for the best eats, and this weekend's spontaneous road trip to Miami Beach did NOT disappoint! I came down to visit my bestie, Sarah, who just moved into a super cute apartment. We spent the afternoon strolling along South Pointe Park Pier, soaking up the sun and watching the cruise ships sail by. All that sea air worked up an appetite, so we decided to find something nearby.
That's how we stumbled upon Meet Dalia, a contemporary Mediterranean spot nestled inside The Gabriel Hotel. The art deco setting is gorgeous, and the sidewalk seating was calling our names. I immediately knew we were in for a treat. The tagline, "Contemporary Mediterranean dishes in an art deco setting with sidewalk seats at the Gabriel Hotel." definitely delivered on the promise!
First off, let's talk appetizers because, honestly, they could have been my whole meal! We started with the classic Guacamole & Chips ($15), and it was the perfect blend of creamy avocado, zesty lime, and a spicy kick from the pico de gallo. The chips were super crispy and clearly homemade. Then we dove headfirst into the Dip Trio ($19). The hummus was incredibly smooth, the tzatziki was refreshing, and the tirokafteri had a lovely tanginess to it. We opted for the crudité (+$3) instead of the pita, because we felt like a lighter option. Yum!
We also tried the Grilled Octopus ($24) which was cooked to perfection, tender and slightly charred, served over a bed of creamy white bean purée. And the Tuna Tartare ($21) was another absolute winner. The fresh ahi tuna, sweet mango, and creamy avocado mousse made for an explosion of flavors.
Sarah opted for the Organic Half Chicken ($25) for her entree and raved about how juicy and flavorful it was. I had a bite, and I must admit, it was pretty fantastic! It came with the most delicious greek lemon potatoes too! Everything on their menu seems to be made with such care and attention to detail. I was so tempted to order the King Crab Legs ($74) but thought it would be too much food for only two people. Maybe next time!
What makes Meet Dalia special? It's definitely the combination of the atmosphere, the location, and the incredible food. It feels chic and sophisticated without being stuffy, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Plus, being right in the heart of Miami Beach means you can easily stroll along Lummus Park afterward to people-watch or head north to North Beach Oceanside Park for a more relaxed vibe.
If you're looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience in Miami Beach, I highly recommend checking out Meet Dalia. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! It's officially on my list of must-visit spots whenever I'm back in town!
