A day built around one meal
Okay, y'all, I have to tell you about my recent trip to Oklahoma City! I decided to take a little weekend road trip after a follower kept raving about how cool it was. Of course, I had to see what all the fuss was about! My main mission? To check out Factory Obscura: Mix-Tape. Seriously, if you haven't been, add it to your list *now*. It's this mind-bending, immersive art experience that just completely messes with your perception in the best way possible. I spent hours wandering through the different rooms, snapping pics, and generally just feeling like I was in a dream.
After all that art exploration, I was *starving*. And I knew I wanted something special. That's when I remembered seeing Mahogany Prime Steakhouse nearby. I had heard whispers of its legendary status, and I knew I had to give it a try. Plus, after seeing some amazing graffiti art on a walk through OKC Underground and Graffiti Alley, I felt like I needed to treat myself to something equally impressive (but edible!).
And let me tell you, Mahogany Prime did not disappoint. This place is the definition of sophisticated dining. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in for an amazing experience.
First, the wine. The list is extensive! After much deliberation (and a little help from the super knowledgeable sommelier), I decided to go with the Flowers Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast, 2021 ($29). Absolutely divine! It was the perfect complement to the meal I had planned. They also have a great selection by the glass. I almost went with the Guinigi Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie ($12) but wanted a red.
For my appetizer, I chose the Seared Scallops. They were cooked to perfection. But let's be honest, I was really there for the steak.
I opted for the Bone-In Ribeye. Cooked medium-rare, it was melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavor. Pure steak perfection! Seriously, I'm still dreaming about it. I'm also a sucker for their sides and I really wanted to give their Gouda Mac & Cheese a try. I have no regrets.
What makes Mahogany Prime so special? It's more than just the amazing food (although that's definitely a huge part of it). It's the ambiance, the impeccable service, and the overall feeling of being transported to a truly special place.
Before heading back to my hotel, I took one last stroll through the area, soaking in the vibrant energy of OKC. I'm already planning my next trip back! And you can bet that Mahogany Prime Steakhouse will be at the top of my list. If you're ever in Oklahoma City and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a night at Mahogany Prime. You won't regret it!
