A day built around one meal
Okay, y'all, let me tell you about my AMAZING day in Pittsburgh! I was in town visiting my bestie Sarah, who recently moved there for her new job. We decided to make a weekend of it, and I was SO ready to explore. We started our Saturday morning strolling through the stunning Schenley Park – seriously, that place is HUGE and gorgeous! All that fresh air definitely worked up an appetite, so we headed towards what I thought would be a quick bite. Boy, was I wrong! I'm so glad we found Top Pot & KBBQ Pittsburgh.
This place is seriously special. It's an all-you-can-eat hot pot AND Korean BBQ situation, and I was instantly sold. For $32.99 (Adult All Day Menu), you get access to a massive spread of meats, seafood, veggies, and all sorts of yummy additions for both the hot pot and the grill. And for the little ones, the Kid All Day Menu (above 3.5ft) for $16.99 is such a great deal too. I'm telling you, the possibilities are endless!
Let’s talk about the BBQ first. I am a HUGE fan of beef bulgogi, and theirs did not disappoint. We also tried the Ribeye Steak and the Angus Steak – both were melt-in-your-mouth tender. And for the adventurous eaters, they even have Beef Tongue! On the seafood side, the Spicy Calamari was a standout, and the Garlic Shrimp were perfectly cooked. If you're more into chicken, the Chicken Bulgogi and Garlic Chicken are both amazing options.
But wait, there's more! Don't even get me started on the hot pot! We chose a spicy broth, and it was the perfect complement to all the grilled goodness. You can add practically anything you want to the hot pot. For a small additional cost ($5.99), you can really get creative and customize your hot pot with all sorts of fun ingredients.
After stuffing ourselves silly, we walked around a bit. Sarah wanted to show me Schenley Plaza, which was surprisingly lively with music and people enjoying the sunshine. It's just a short walk from Top Pot & KBBQ, and it was the perfect way to digest all that delicious food. The next day, before I headed back home, I made sure to carve out some time to relax in Mellon Square. Its tranquil fountains offered a peaceful escape from the city bustle.
Top Pot & KBBQ Pittsburgh is more than just a restaurant; it's an EXPERIENCE. The quality of the food is fantastic, the variety is unbeatable, and the atmosphere is super fun and lively. If you're looking for a unique and delicious meal in Pittsburgh, DO NOT miss this place. Seriously, I'm already plotting my return. And you know what? You should too! Trust me, you won't regret it.
