A day built around one meal
Okay, friends, let me tell you about my recent foodie find! I was heading out to Wayne for the day – a friend of mine just moved into the area, and I promised I'd visit. After a bit of helping with unpacking and some catching up, we decided to explore. I'd heard the Eagle Village Shops were super cute, so that was our first stop, and we had a great time browsing. All that shopping made me hungry, and I'm SO glad we stumbled upon TAKUMI BISTRO & BAR. Seriously, this place is a gem!
From the moment we walked in, I knew we were in for a treat. The atmosphere is chic and modern, and the staff was super friendly. The menu is packed with Asian-fusion dishes that made my mouth water. I had a hard time choosing, but after much deliberation (and some help from our server), here's what we went with:
First up, we shared the Crunchy Cake ($17.00). Imagine a fried panko-breaded rice cake topped with spicy tuna, jalapeño, and a drizzle of spicy mayo... yeah, it was *that* good. The perfect blend of textures and flavors! For my main course, I decided to go with the Creamy Kimchi Udon ($20.00). Stir-fried shrimp, bell pepper, onion, and kimchi udon in a creamy white sauce topped with parmesan? I never knew I needed this in my life! My friend opted for the Takumi Fried Rice ($22.00). He described it as the best fried rice he's ever had, and I definitely stole a few bites – the smoke ham and sunny side up egg were perfect together.
What makes TAKUMI BISTRO & BAR stand out? It's the creative combinations and the attention to detail. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. I'm already planning my next visit! I'm eyeing that Wagyu on Stone (Limited) ($70.00) for sure – A-5 wagyu that you cook yourself on a hot stone? Yes, please!
Before heading home, I was thinking about planning a day trip to Valley Forge National Park sometime soon. Maybe I will check out Penn's Cave and Wildlife Park. It's a completely different vibe than the cute shops in downtown Wayne, but I’ve heard they are both an awesome experience!
If you're in the Wayne area, or even if you're just looking for a fun day trip from the city, do yourself a favor and check out TAKUMI BISTRO & BAR. You won't regret it! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.
