A day built around one meal
Okay, friends, let me tell you about my recent adventure in Madison! I decided to take a little weekend road trip after hearing so much about it from one of my followers, and boy, am I glad I did. I was looking for something fun and adventurous to do, so I headed over to Thrill Factory Entertainment for some high-octane excitement. After all that adrenaline, I was starving!
That's when I spotted Taj Indian Cuisine & Bar, and the aroma wafting from the doorway was irresistible. I'm always on the hunt for amazing Indian food, and this place totally delivered.
First off, let's talk atmosphere. Taj has a cool, modern vibe, perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a fun date night. The staff was super friendly and helpful, guiding me through their extensive menu.
Now, for the main event: the food! I started with the Chicken Tikka Masala ($16.95), because it's a classic for a reason. The sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, and the chicken was incredibly tender. Seriously, each bite was an explosion of flavor. I also couldn’t resist trying the Lamb Biryani ($18.95), and it was just as amazing. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the basmati rice was infused with aromatic spices. Absolutely divine!
And speaking of spices, let's not forget the drinks! Taj has a fully stocked bar, and I was intrigued by their tequila selection. I decided to try the Chica-Chida Peanut Butter Tequila ($7/12), and it was surprisingly delicious! A fun and unique twist on a classic. For those whiskey lovers, they have an impressive selection. I noticed they carry Bulleit Bourbon ($10/18) and Crown Royal ($9/16).
What makes Taj Indian Cuisine & Bar special? It's the combination of authentic Indian flavors, a vibrant atmosphere, and a menu that has something for everyone. Plus, it's in a great location! You could easily spend the morning strolling through the beautiful Olbrich Botanical Gardens, then head over to Taj for a delicious lunch. Or, after an afternoon relaxing by the lake at Vilas (Henry) Park, you could treat yourself to a flavorful dinner at Taj.
Before heading back home, I tried their Gulab Jamun ($6.95) and it was the perfect sweet treat to cap off the evening. Those fried milk balls soaked in rosewater syrup are seriously addictive!
If you find yourself in Madison, do yourself a favor and check out Taj Indian Cuisine & Bar. You won't be disappointed! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.
