A day built around one meal
Okay, so you know how I mentioned I was headed to Albuquerque this weekend? My bestie, Sarah, just moved there, and I had to come visit and help her settle in. After a morning of battling flat-pack furniture (ugh!), we decided to treat ourselves to some retail therapy at Coronado Center. All that shopping worked up an appetite, so we started searching for a good lunch spot.
That's when I found it: Sushi Hana. I had seen a few pictures online and decided we needed to check it out. I am SO glad we did. This place is a total winner!
First of all, the menu is HUGE. Like, seriously, how do you even choose? Luckily, our server was super helpful. After explaining my love for all things spicy, she immediately pointed me toward the 911 Roll ($13.95). Let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! It had just the right amount of kick to wake up my taste buds.
Sarah, being the less adventurous one, opted for the classic California Roll ($10.95) and the Aloha Roll ($10.25). She said both were incredibly fresh and perfectly made. I snuck a bite of her Aloha Roll, and the combination of flavors was amazing. Sweet and savory? Yes, please!
But the real star of the show, in my opinion, was the Green Chile Roll ($8.50). I mean, come on, you're in New Mexico! You HAVE to try something with green chile. It added such a unique and delicious twist to the sushi. Definitely a must-try if you visit.
They also have some seriously creative rolls like the Fireda Roll ($16.95), and the Black Tiger Roll ($19.95). If you are looking for something cheaper, they have great options like the Avocado Roll for $6.50 or the Frank Roll for $7.75.
What makes Sushi Hana so special? It's the combination of fresh ingredients, creative roll combinations, and a really chill atmosphere. It's contemporary, but still has a cozy neighborhood feel. And the staff is amazing, super friendly, and helpful.
After lunch, Sarah and I explored some more of Albuquerque. We took a drive through Old Town Albuquerque, soaking in the history and charm. We even stopped by Patio Market Old Town Albuquerque to pick up some cute souvenirs. So many colorful trinkets! It was the perfect way to end a fun-filled day.
So, if you find yourself in Albuquerque, especially if you're near Coronado Center, do yourself a favor and head to Sushi Hana. Seriously, you won't regret it! I know I'll be back next time I'm in town visiting Sarah. I’m already dreaming about trying the Dragon Roll!
