A day built around one meal
Okay, you guys know I love a good food adventure, and this weekend's trip to Edison, NJ, totally delivered! I was actually in town visiting my friend Sarah, and we wanted to check out Supercharged Entertainment. All that go-karting and arcade fun works up an appetite, right? So, we were on the hunt for something quick, delicious, and satisfying. That's when we found Rayaki Ramen Edison, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer.
"Ramen, dumplings & Japanese eats served in a relaxed location with seating & anime murals." That’s the tagline, and it’s spot on! As soon as we walked in, I was obsessed with the anime murals. So cool and vibrant! But beyond the atmosphere, the food is where Rayaki Ramen *really* shines.
First, we dove into the appetizers (because, priorities!). The Rayaki Fries ($8.95) were a must-try based on a recommendation I saw online. Miced cha shu (marinated pork), spicy mayo, garlic oil, fried onions... need I say more? Salty, savory, and seriously addictive. We also couldn't resist the Fried Sticky Rice Cake ($6.95). That honey and spicy mayo combo is genius! And because we couldn’t choose just two, we went for the classic Gyoza ($6.00) and some Spicy Edamame ($5.50), too!
For the main event, it had to be ramen, of course! I went with their signature bowl, and it was pure comfort in a bowl. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. Honestly, every slurp was a little slice of heaven.
After our ramen feast, we decided to walk around a bit. We actually ended up taking a stroll through Papaianni Park, which was so serene and beautiful! It was the perfect way to digest all that deliciousness. We were also tempted to head over to American Dream for some shopping and maybe even try out the indoor ski slope, but Sarah had to get back home.
Rayaki Ramen Edison is definitely a must-visit if you're in the area. Great food, fun atmosphere, and perfect for a casual meal with friends. Plus, with places like Supercharged Entertainment, Papaianni Park, and American Dream nearby, you can easily make a whole day of it! Seriously, next time you're anywhere near Edison, skip the usual spots and treat yourself to some real ramen magic. You won't regret it!
