A day built around one meal
Okay, you guys KNOW I'm always on the hunt for the best local eats, and this weekend, I hit the jackpot! I was actually in Seabrook visiting my friend Sarah – she just moved and wanted to show me around Welcome Bienvenue New Hampshire, which is super cute! After a bit of shopping, we were starving, so I asked her where the locals go for amazing seafood. Without hesitation, she said, "Markey's Lobster Pool!"
And let me tell you, she wasn't wrong. Markey's is this totally unpretentious, classic roadside spot with picnic tables overlooking the water. You order at the window, grab a seat, and just soak in the salty air while you wait for your feast. It's perfect! No frills, just fantastic food.
First things first: the Lobster Roll ($27.95). I mean, you HAVE to, right? It was piled high with fresh, sweet lobster meat, lightly dressed. Absolutely divine. Sarah went for the Clam Roll ($21.95), and I stole a bite (don't tell her!). Equally amazing – perfectly fried, crispy clams in a soft roll. We also split an order of French Fries (Small, $4.25) because, well, fries are life. I also sampled the Clam Chowder (Small, $6.50) – creamy, comforting, and packed with clams. Next time, I'm definitely getting the Large! If you're not a seafood person (gasp!), they also have classics like a Hamburger ($5.95) and even a Grilled Cheese ($3.50).
What makes Markey's so special? It's the combination of super fresh seafood, generous portions, and that awesome, laid-back atmosphere. You can tell it's a local favorite, and that's always a good sign. After we stuffed ourselves, we took a drive down to Salisbury Beach Boardwalk for a stroll and some people-watching before heading back to Seabrook Crossing to browse the outlets. It was the perfect way to end a fun day.
Seriously, if you're anywhere near Seabrook, NH, you HAVE to check out Markey's Lobster Pool. Don't expect fancy decor or white tablecloths. Expect incredibly fresh, delicious seafood, friendly service, and a truly authentic New England experience. Trust me, your taste buds (and your Instagram feed) will thank you!
