A day built around one meal
Okay, Reno foodies, listen up! You know I'm always on the hunt for the best hidden gems, and this weekend, I hit the jackpot. I was actually in town visiting my bestie Sarah – we were grabbing brunch at Wild River Grille (their patio is *everything*) when she mentioned a pizza place inside the Eldorado that’s only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Naturally, I HAD to check it out.
And let me tell you, Hidden Pizza lives up to its name! It's a low-key pizza counter, no frills, just pure, delicious pizza. The tagline? "Low-key pizza counter inside Eldorado Resort Casino open Fri & Sat only for NY-style pies & slices." Nailed it.
First things first: heads up, they only sell whole pies. No slices, no half-and-half situations here. But trust me, you’ll WANT the whole pie. We went with the classic Pepperoni ($14.00) and, because we were feeling a little adventurous, the Chicken Chimichurri. Let me just say, both were phenomenal. The crust had that perfect crispy-yet-chewy texture, the sauce was tangy and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and generous.
They have a pretty solid menu. Next time, I’m definitely trying the Meat Lovers ($16.00) – I saw one coming out of the oven, and it looked insane. The Margherita and Veggie options also looked super promising, and you can’t go wrong with a classic Cheese pizza for $12.00. For drinks, they've got Fountain Soda for $3.00 and Beer for $7.00 if you want to make it a party.
What makes Hidden Pizza special? It's the combination of quality ingredients, perfectly executed New York-style pizza, and the whole “hidden” aspect. It feels like you're in on a secret! Plus, the location is prime. After pizza, we considered heading over to Purple Parrot for some cocktails. We also thought about going to The Parlor for a night cap, but we were both so full from pizza, we ended up just heading back to Sarah's place.
If you're looking for a late-night pizza fix or just a seriously good pie in Reno, Hidden Pizza is a MUST. Just remember – Friday and Saturday only! Seriously, mark your calendars. You won't regret it. Tell them your girl (that's me!) sent you!
