A day built around one meal
Okay, friends, let me tell you about my recent adventure in Williamsburg! I decided to take a little weekend road trip because a few followers raved about Freedom Park and I was dying to check it out. I spent the morning exploring the trails, soaking up the sunshine, and feeling all kinds of historical vibes. It's such a cool spot!
After all that walking, I was starving. I was craving something fresh and flavorful, and that's when I spotted it: Haru Sushi. I'd heard whispers of its deliciousness, and let me tell you, the rumors are TRUE.
First of all, the atmosphere is just right. It’s cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. The staff were super friendly, which always makes a dining experience even better. Now, let's get to the good stuff: the food!
I started with the classic Miso Soup ($3.50). You can't go wrong with this comforting staple—the perfect way to warm up my tummy. Then, because I was feeling adventurous, I also ordered the Poke Salad ($13.50). Oh. My. Goodness. Tuna, salmon, white fish, yellowtail, tobiko, avocado, mango...the list goes on! It was a flavor explosion in my mouth, and the chef's special sauce was seriously addictive. Every ingredient was so fresh and vibrant. I definitely recommend it!
I also couldn’t resist trying some appetizers! The Shrimp Tempura ($10.50) with vegetables was perfectly crispy and light. And, because I love a good dumpling, I went for the Gyoza ($7.50). Those pan-fried Japanese pork dumplings were juicy and flavorful; they were the perfect bite-sized treat. They also have Crispy Fried Coconut Milk ($6.00) which I thought was interesting! Maybe next time!
After lunch, I thought about heading over to Sesame Street Forest of Fun to get my inner child on, but decided to go back to exploring Freedom Park and visit the Freedom Park Go Ape zip line adventure. Maybe next time I am in town, I'll go to Sesame Street, I've heard great things.
What makes Haru Sushi special? It's the freshness of the ingredients, the care in the presentation, and the overall dedication to quality. You can tell they take pride in what they do. And let's be honest, finding a consistently great sushi spot is like striking gold.
Before heading out of town to go home, I stopped by Veterans Park, a great and beautiful tribute to our veterans. I enjoyed a nice walk around the park and soaking in the sun.
Seriously, if you're ever in the Williamsburg area, do yourself a favor and check out Haru Sushi. It's the perfect spot for a casual lunch, a fun dinner with friends, or even a solo sushi adventure. I know I'll definitely be back! And if you see me there, say hi! Let me know what *your* favorite rolls are!
