A day built around one meal
Okay, y'all, I have to tell you about my recent food adventure! I was in Indianapolis this past weekend visiting my bestie, Sarah. We decided to take a day trip to Brown County State Park for some hiking and leaf-peeping (it's GORGEOUS this time of year!), and I figured since I was already in the area, I HAD to try this place I'd been hearing so much buzz about: Gangnam Korean Steakhouse.
And let me tell you, the rumors are TRUE. This place is AMAZING. We went for dinner, which is $28.99 per adult for the all-you-can-eat experience. But, guys, I'm already planning my next trip back to upgrade to the PREMIUM option ($38.99). I'm dying to try the Marbled Beef (Chuck) and the US Wagyu!
So. Much. Meat.
The sheer variety of options is mind-blowing. We started with the Beef Bulgogi, which was perfectly marinated and slightly sweet. Then we moved on to the Prime Short Ribs – tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. And the Spicy Beef Bulgogi had just the right amount of kick! You guys HAVE to try the Prime Finger Ribs. Seriously, they were my favorite.
They also have chicken and other proteins, but honestly, I was too busy demolishing all the beef. I also didn't opt for the Double Section BBQ & Hot Pot (+$5), but I'm definitely adding that on next time! The sides were also a highlight – kimchi, pickled radish, and all the fixings you could possibly want to build the perfect little lettuce wrap.
More Than Just a Meal
What I really loved about Gangnam Korean Steakhouse is that it's more than just a meal; it's an experience. The grill built into the table, the endless stream of delicious meats arriving, and the fun of cooking everything yourself – it's all just so interactive and engaging. Also, the staff was super friendly and helpful, explaining all the different cuts of meat and offering recommendations.
Before heading to Gangnam, we spent the morning exploring the Bottleworks District. Such a cool area with unique shops and art. I even picked up a few gifts for the holidays! And afterward, before heading back to Sarah's, we took a detour to the Garfield Park Conservatory. It was the perfect, tranquil end to a busy day before diving headfirst into a KBBQ feast.
Final Verdict
If you're anywhere near Indianapolis, you NEED to check out Gangnam Korean Steakhouse. Seriously, it's worth the drive. Treat yourself to the Premium option and go wild! You won't regret it. Just make sure to wear stretchy pants!
