A day built around one meal
Okay, you guys KNOW I love a good road trip, and this weekend I decided to finally check out Albuquerque! I'd heard from a follower that it was a super cool city with a lot of character, and I'm always up for an adventure. My main mission? Helping my friend Sarah pick out a new outfit at Coronado Center. After a few hours of shopping and way too many dressing room selfies, we were both STARVING and in dire need of a caffeine boost. That's when I remembered passing Donut Mart Café on the way!
And let me tell you, it was the BEST decision ever. This place is seriously a hidden gem. It's not your average donut shop, that's for sure. They have this crazy cool "Electric Drinks" menu – I ended up going for the Red Bull with a shot of mango ($4.99). It was the perfect pick-me-up after all that retail therapy. Sarah went for a Sugar Free Red Bull with strawberry and really enjoyed it!
Donut Heaven
But let's be real, I was there for the donuts. And oh my goodness, the selection! They have a Custom Donut Bar where you can build your own masterpiece. I was immediately drawn to the classics, though. I grabbed an Apple Fritter ($1.89) and a Chocolate Cream donut; it was HUGE and the perfect mix of sweet and chocolatey. Sarah went for the 10 Donut Hole Bowl because she wanted to try a little of everything! And at that price, who could blame her?
They also have some super fun flavored electric drinks. I was tempted by the Lychee and Orange combinations! Next time, I will definitely be trying the lemonade with pineapple.
More Than Just Donuts
What I really loved about Donut Mart Café (besides the obvious sugary goodness) was the vibe. It's super chill and friendly, a perfect place to recharge before diving back into the Albuquerque scene. After we got our fill, we headed over to Old Town Albuquerque! We loved walking around, looking at all the beautiful architecture and unique shops. It's such a charming area! We even popped into Patio Market Old Town Albuquerque to pick up a few souvenirs. It was a really fun day and I'm so glad I went!
If you're ever in Albuquerque, especially if you're near Coronado Center or exploring Old Town, you HAVE to stop by Donut Mart Café. Seriously, treat yourself. You deserve it! And maybe grab an extra donut for me – I'm already craving another one!
