A day built around one meal
Okay, fam, listen up! You know I'm always on the hunt for delicious food and fun experiences, and let me tell you, my recent trip to Omaha totally delivered. I'd heard from a follower that Omaha was having a real moment, so I hopped in the car for a weekend road trip to check it out. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
I was checking out the Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront (seriously, what a cool space!), and feeling a little peckish. That's when I spotted Clase Codigo, and the vibrant colors and lively music practically pulled me in. Honestly, I was sold before I even saw the menu.
And speaking of the menu, wow! Where do I even begin? First off, the *salsa* is a must-try! It's fresh, flavorful, and has just the right amount of kick. For starters, I couldn't resist the *Table-side Guacamole* ($11.00). It was made fresh right in front of me, and it was seriously the best guac I've had in ages. Creamy, perfectly seasoned, and piled high with fresh ingredients. Total perfection.
For my main course, I was torn between so many tempting options, but I finally landed on the *Clase Del Mar* ($24.00). Mahi mahi, scallops, shrimp, seafood sauce, rice & mango pico – it was a symphony of flavors! The seafood was cooked perfectly, and the mango pico added a sweet and tangy twist that I absolutely loved. Seriously, every bite was an explosion of deliciousness.
My friend went with the *Chori Pollo* ($17.00) and added the peppers and onions for just $2 more. The chicken was so tender, and the chorizo gave it the perfect amount of spice. It came with rice, beans and tortillas, which she said was the perfect combination.
What makes Clase Codigo so special? It's the atmosphere, y'all. The staff is super friendly, the decor is bright and festive, and the whole place just has a really fun, welcoming vibe. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy some amazing food, and just have a great time. I'm already planning my next trip back just to go here again!
While you're in the area, be sure to check out some of the other cool things Omaha has to offer. The Kiewit Luminarium is a super interactive science museum that's fun for all ages. And of course, you have to wander through The Old Market – it's full of unique shops and has such a cool, historic feel.
So, if you're ever in Omaha and craving some authentic Mexican cuisine, do yourself a favor and head straight to Clase Codigo. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. From the *Cheese Dip* appetizer ($6.00) to the *Tacos* ($10.99), and even the *LA TRES* combination plate ($15.00) there is something for everyone. Tell them your girl sent you!
Seriously, it’s not just a meal; it's an experience. Go hungry and get ready to say "¡Delicioso!"
