A day built around one meal
Okay, friends, let me tell you about my accidental adventure that turned into a culinary obsession. I was in town visiting my bestie, Sarah, and we decided to spend the morning soaking up some sun in Central Park. After all that walking, we were STARVING. We headed towards midtown and after a quick search, I stumbled upon Chubby Cattle BBQ | New York, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer!
First off, the whole experience is just…WOW. It's a modern, sleek space, and the aroma of grilling meat hits you the second you walk in. I went for the "PER PERSON ($58.00) [Silver Tier]" option because, YOLO, right? Plus, I had to try as much as possible!
Wagyu Dreams Come True
The selection is insane. I'm talking about premium cuts of Wagyu I'd only dreamed of before. The Wagyu Brisket and Wagyu Top Blade were melt-in-your-mouth tender. Seriously, I closed my eyes and savored every single bite. Oh! And I can’t forget the Full Blood Thick Cut Wagyu Short Rib ($58) – absolutely worth every penny. We also grabbed some Wagyu Finger Meat – it was perfectly marinated and unbelievably flavorful. I was seriously considering ordering another round, but I wanted to save room to sample more.
They also have a killer selection of pork and chicken options. We tried the Iberico Pork, and it was deliciously rich. But those Wagyu options? *chef's kiss* Perfection.
What Makes it Special?
It's not just the quality of the meat (which is obviously top-notch). It's the whole experience. Each table has its own grill, so you get to cook everything exactly to your liking. They have a ton of amazing sauces and seasonings to experiment with, too. The staff were super friendly and helpful, guiding us through the menu and offering cooking tips. It’s also just a short walk from Bryant Park, so you could easily make a day of it, grab a picnic lunch in the park, then stroll over for a BBQ feast!
Don't Miss Out
Before hopping on the train back downtown, Sarah and I took a quick detour to Washington Square Park to catch some street performers and soak in the Greenwich Village vibes. It was the perfect ending to an amazing day in the city!
If you're in NYC and looking for a next-level BBQ experience, you NEED to check out Chubby Cattle BBQ | New York. Seriously. Treat yourself to the Wagyu Steak ($58), or the Wagyu Chunk Eye/和牛肉Miso ($58). I'm already planning my next visit! You won't regret it. Trust me; your taste buds will thank you.
