Feature Story
A day built around one meal
I was in Pembroke Pines last weekend, killing time while my friend got her car serviced nearby. After a walk around Pembroke Gardens, I was starting to feel hungry. Instead of just grabbing something quick, I decided to explore a little and stumbled upon Chow One Korean Steakhouse. And let me tell you, it was the best kind of surprise.
I've always been curious about Korean BBQ, but sometimes the price tag feels intimidating. Chow One, with its modern, industrial-style interior, felt both inviting and surprisingly affordable. The tabletop grills immediately signaled a fun, interactive experience.
The menu is packed with tempting options, but I decided to start with some of the kitchen sides. The Seafood Pancake for $15.99 was crispy and savory, and the Egg Custard ($6.99) was so fluffy and delicate. Next time, I definitely want to try the Corn Cheese ($7.99) – I saw it at the next table and it looked amazing.
For the main course, I went with the Beef Bulgogi ($26.99) and I wasn’t disappointed. The meat was perfectly marinated and cooked quickly on the grill, allowing me to savor every bite. The side dishes, like kimchi and pickled vegetables, were fresh and flavorful, adding a great contrast to the richness of the beef. My friend joined me later, after her car service was done, and ordered the Spicy Squid ($25.99), which she loved. We also split an order of the Steamed Rice ($2.99).
What really sets Chow One apart is the atmosphere. It's lively without being overwhelming, and the staff are friendly and helpful, guiding you through the grilling process if you're new to Korean BBQ. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy a good meal with friends or family.
Before heading home, we swung by Playtopia – a huge indoor playground – to let my friend’s kids burn off some energy. It made for a fun, full day in Pembroke Pines.
If you're looking for a delicious, affordable, and engaging dining experience, Chow One Korean Steakhouse is definitely worth a visit. It’s a great place to try something new and create some fun memories. Text your friends and make a reservation – you won't regret it!
