Spice Up Your MKE Day: Catrina Café's Fiesta of Flavors!

Okay, Milwaukee foodies, listen up! I recently took a little weekend road trip up to your awesome city, mostly because I'd been hearing amazing things from my followers about the Mitchell Park Domes Horticultural Conservatory. Those stunning greenhouses were definitely on my list, but you know me, I'm *always* on the hunt for a delicious local spot to fuel my adventures. And boy, did I find a gem!

Catrina Café Mke completely stole my heart (and taste buds!). Seriously, this place is a must-try. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the menu is packed with authentic Mexican dishes that are so good, you'll be planning your next visit before you even finish your meal.

I was seriously overwhelmed by all the amazing choices, but after much deliberation (and a little help from the friendly staff), I settled on a few dishes to share. First up, the Enfrijoladas ($14.99) – three rolled tortillas filled with scrambled eggs, chorizo, and cheese, smothered in a special sauce and topped with all the fixings. Absolute heaven! The chorizo had just the right kick, and the sauce was incredible. Next, we had to try the Salmon Catrina Tacos ($16.99). Flaky salmon with pico de gallo and creamy avocado nestled in warm tortillas? Yes, please! The flavors were so fresh and vibrant. I also snuck a bite of the Hangover Burger ($16.99), and it was seriously a flavor explosion! All burgers come with fries.

And because I'm a sucker for a good breakfast burrito, I couldn't resist ordering the Breakfast Burrito ($14.99), which was stuffed with bacon, lettuce, tomato, mix cheese, avocado, and chipotle mayo. It was everything I wanted and more! I washed it all down with some delicious coffee. They also have some delicious Chilaquiles options ranging from $13.99 - $20.00, depending on what kind you get.

What I really loved about Catrina Café Mke is that it feels like a truly authentic, family-run place. The staff is so welcoming and passionate about their food, and you can tell they put a lot of love into every dish. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and feel like you're part of the community. Plus, the prices are great for the amount of food you get!

After my amazing meal, I spent the afternoon exploring more of Milwaukee. I'd heard great things about Discovery World, so I checked that out - super cool! I also swung by the Urban Ecology Center at Riverside Park for a little nature walk before heading home. What a perfect day!
