A day built around one meal

Okay, so you know I love a good weekend road trip! This time, I decided to finally check out Lake Hudson Recreation Area – I’d heard the stargazing was phenomenal. After a day of hiking and scouting the perfect dark sky spot, my stomach started rumbling. I was ready for some serious eats and was hoping to find something unique.

That's when I stumbled upon Bheemas Indian Cuisine in New Hudson, and let me tell you, it was a lucky find! Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones you don't plan, right? The aroma wafting from the place was seriously intoxicating, and I knew I had to go in.

First off, the menu is HUGE. So many options, it took me a while to decide. To start, I absolutely had to try the Samosa Chat ($9.99). The perfect mix of crispy samosas, flavorful chutneys, and yogurt – it was gone in minutes. Then, because I am a sucker for fried treats, I tried the Pakora - Spinach ($6.99). Super crispy, delicious and the perfect light snack.

For my main course, I went with the Chilli Paneer ($12.99) because I needed something with a kick. The paneer was perfectly cooked and the sauce had just the right amount of spice. It was so flavorful and satisfying! But the real showstopper, though, was the Bheemas Baby Corn 65 ($12.99). I never thought baby corn could be so amazing! It was crispy, spicy, and totally addictive. I’m already dreaming about it. Next time, I am going to try the Egg Bonda ($8.99).

What I really loved about Bheemas, besides the incredible food, was the atmosphere. It felt so warm and inviting. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the whole place just had a great vibe. Plus, it's so conveniently located! You could easily spend a day exploring the area. I wish I had time to visit the William G Thompson House Museum & Gardens before dinner. Maybe next time I'll also check out a show at Will Carleton Park!

If you're ever in the New Hudson area, especially if you're checking out Lake Hudson or any of the other cool spots nearby, you HAVE to make a pit stop at Bheemas Indian Cuisine. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you. This isn't your average Indian takeout; it's an experience. And you know I only recommend the best! Seriously, go try the baby corn. You won't regret it!
