A day built around one meal
Okay, friends, let me tell you about my recent Orlando adventure! I was in town visiting my bestie, Sarah, for a long weekend, and we decided to hit up Universal CityWalk. After a day of thrilling rides and dodging crowds, we were starving and craving something *amazing*. That's when we spotted Agave Azul Kirkman, and honestly, it was love at first sight.
Hello, Agave Azul!
Agave Azul has this electric energy that just pulls you in. The tagline, "Casual Mexican fare served in a vibrant space with a party vibe, lots of tequila & outdoor tables," is spot on! It's exactly what we needed after a long day. Plus, I was SO ready for some authentic Mexican food. We grabbed a table outside, soaking in the last bit of that beautiful Florida sunshine.
Taco Time (and Fajitas, Oh My!)
Their menu is packed with delicious options, but the Street Taqueros are where it's at. We couldn't resist trying a few different ones. The carne asada ($18.00) was tender and flavorful, and the guajillo citrus chicken ($16.50) had this amazing zesty kick. But the real MVP? The al pastor ($17.00) – perfectly seasoned pork with a hint of pineapple sweetness. Seriously, SO GOOD.
But wait, there's more! We also decided to split an order of the Agave Asadero fajitas ($38.00). This thing is a FEAST! Churrasco, pollo al carbón, mojo shrimp…plus all the fixings. It was all cooked perfectly, and the queso fresco added the perfect touch. Honestly, everything was incredible.
If you're not in the mood for tacos or fajitas, the menu has plenty of other options, including the Camarones al Gusto ($21.00) with cilantro rice, or the Raspberry Chipotle Salmon ($23.5). Next time, I'm definitely trying the Mahi Fernandez ($25). Everything sounds mouthwatering!
More Than Just a Meal
What I really loved about Agave Azul was the whole experience. The staff was super friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lively and fun, and the food was top-notch. It was the perfect way to end a fun day. After dinner, we actually considered heading over to ICON Park to ride The Orlando Eye and see the city lights from above, but we were so full and content that we decided to save it for another night. We did take a quick detour to snap some photos before heading back.
Speaking of ICON Park, if you're looking for something fun to do before or after your meal, it's super close by. You could also hit up a few shops beforehand – it's a whole day's worth of entertainment right there!
Final Verdict
If you find yourself in the Orlando area, especially near Universal CityWalk, you HAVE to check out Agave Azul Kirkman. It's the perfect spot to grab some delicious Mexican food, unwind after a long day, and soak in the Florida vibes. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! It definitely made my weekend trip with Sarah even more memorable – I can't wait to go back!
